Dan Heil and his Dad, John in 1965 with one of the very first trucks.

In 1982 Heil Transportation, Inc. was officially formed. At this time the fleet was just three trucks. Shortly after in 1984 Heil Transportation purchased several trucks from John Nyweide and began to grow.
After graduating from high school, Dan began hauling milk. In the spring of 1978 after a few months of college, Dan decided he wanted to have his own truck and haul milk full time. At the age of twenty, he purchased a Kenworth truck and a milk route. The picture above was Dan's second truck.

In 1985, we purchased a few more trucks and routes from Barry Schaefer. The picture above is one of our trucks approaching the Middlefield Cheese plant.

In 1990 we began hauling juice for Cliffstar Corporation in Dunkirk, NY. Cliffstar would go on to become the largest independent juice bottler in the country before they were acquired by what is now Refresco. At this time we had 13 full time employees working at Cliffstar transferring product and moving the many trailers we leased to them.
